Iron Supplement?
I've done really well for the past week. I've eaten right and I've gotten at least 20 minutes a day in of some kind of exercise. Even rode my bike 9 miles on Saturday! But I'm still so super duper tired. I remember posting about this earlier last month and LaChelle mentioned iron deficiency. I used to have low iron before my hysterectomy and this is exactly what I felt like. Back then, I didn't have to do anything about it. I'd just have a d & c and everything would be ok again. I thought with my eating right again it might straighten out but it hasn't done anything yet. I went to the dollar store on my lunch break to pick up a few items and looked at their supplements. I bought a Rexall brand Superior Intestinal Tolerance Advanced Iron supplement. The ingredients are dicalcium phosphate, maltodextrin, croscarmellose sodium, and magnesium stearate. Of course this means absolutely nothing to me! The serving size is two tablets once a day to get 117 mg of calcium and 50 mg of iron (as carbonyl iron). Does anyone know what this is? Is it the right stuff? Should I take more? Any ideas?
Thanks so much!

There are only a couple types of iron we can tolerate. I don't remember what the other is off the top of my head but the one type is Ferrous Gluconate. You can have the pharmacist at Walmart order it for you if it's not on the shelf. However since your feeling sooo crummy I would definitely call your surgeon or even your PCP's office about having some labs checked.
