I couldn't help but give a little laugh when I got to the part of you wanting cucumbers. It's going to be awhile before your baby pouch can handle them. You should have gotten some sheets at your pre-op dietician day. They use to be yellow..but they may have changed the color since then. They are pretty good at saying what you can have at each phase.

Pureed...at 6 weeks (or is it 4 weeks now?) is just what the word means...pureed. Think 'baby food'. You have a baby pouch and you have to slowly introduce food consistencies to it. You wouldn't give an infant cucumbers..you don't give it to yourself either. I think salad type stuff isn't until ~3-6 months...so at least your baby pouch doesn't have to wait as long as a toddler would have to wait. But it does have to wait. Your incisions and staple line has to have time to heal. If you don't allow it that, you could perforate it (cause a leak) and end up in the hospital. So baby it some.

These first initial weeks are the hardest part of this whole process. It does make it even better though when you can enjoy that first bite of cukes! My thing I craved was saute'd onions. Nope...I wouldn't give them to a baby either so my pouch had to wait. I'd cook them for dh though just so I could smell them...lol.

Congrats on your surgery and welcome to the board.
