I have question?

For the past 24 + hours I have had a really severe headache. I was wondering if any of you have had one that lead to the flu or not? I think I may have to go to the ER somewhere. Do you think I should go to St. V's at Carmel? OR should I go to the main st. V's on 86th street since I am seeing a heart doc there and wearing a heart monitor. Which do you think? I will have to go by myself so take that into concideration. Took some Tylenol and am going to try a nice hot shower and letting the water run on the top of my head, that is where the pain is on the top. Thanks for what advice you have to give! Michelle

I would go to St V's.  As close as you are.  It's not much farther to go there than it is to go to any other ER.  They are used to dealing with WLS patients.

I am going to wait and call my PCP. Maybe they can see me if the headache is still there in the morning.

Don't wait too long girl, you don't want to take any chances on your health.   Keep us posted on what you find out please.

Michelle,

I'd try to bring a driver with you. When I have my migraines, it has in the past taken a couple of shots to get rid of it. With those shots, driving is a no-no. I'd probably try contacting my pcp first though since they should be aware of your heart condition as well as your WLS. Maybe they can just call you in a script.

Just wanted you all to know that my headache has left the skull! I am so thankful that it is gone for now. I hope it doesn't return as I can not afford any more medical bills. I am still dealing with this heart thing and the expense on that will be astronomical I am sure. Just wanted to let you all know that it finally went away. Thanks for all the good advice. Michelle

I don't know your financial information but Indiana has a new health insurance program for low income individuals and families.  There are income guidelines as well as monthly premiums.  Look at IN.gov for information.  You can print out an application and take it to your local office or send to the Document center.  I know medical care can be very expensive and I was aware of this new program.  Good luck and I am glad you are feeling better.

Michelle, I am so glad that the headache went away. I know that they are not easy to deal with at times and the worse they are the worse we feel. It sometimes is like beating you head against the wall.

Just make sure that you keep drinking since the dehydration headache is really bad. It may very well have been one of those.
