OMG is right! I lost my job!

No warning, no reason, never saw it coming.  Me and one other girl that have been with the company for 9 years were eliminated today.  Voted off the island so to speak.  Downsizing was the excuse they used although they added two new girls last month and they are still there.  I was told by my supervisor that I didn't fit in well with the others.  The others being a group of girls that are 30 and younger who fly the F word like I use the word hello.  One of them even said it to a store manager yesterday.  I am not sure where they think they will improve the department by keeping people who are rude and disrespectful.  However, I won't be subject to it any more.  I guess I should be thankful.  Sad part is, my truck blew up 2 months ago and I have not been able to get it fixed.  So, I feel like the world is caving in on me at this point.  I am really out of answers as to what I can do.  I feel like a giant whole has swallowed me and I can't get out.

Oh, and as I left the room they told me that my insurance will be cancelled at the end of this month.  Glad I had my surgery already!

I am so sorry to hear that you lost your job.  I am in the process of looking for another job and there is just not too much out there.  I wish you the best in your search.

I am sorry that you lost your job. But look at the bright side. You can get unemployment and you will get to be home for the holidays, and you don't have to put up with crap. Just trying to make you smile.

Yikes, that stinks. I'm so sorry.

I'm sure it's hard to see now, but sometimes something like this can be a blessing in disguise? Have you ever wanted to start your own business? Are you crafty, creative, good with your hands? Do you have some stuff you could sell on eBay? That's how I'm making my Christmas money this year. I have stuff all over the place that I don't use and don't need, and I've been listing it on eBay. In two weeks I have over $100.00 in my PayPal account, and this is just from "stuff."

I started a business out of my home doing medical transcription. That's what I'm good at, and there is *really* good money in it.

Brainstorm, I'll bet you can come up with something. Let me know if I can help with anything.

Jenny, I actually thought about medical transcription.  I already have two college degrees and I am kind of tired of the elimination game.  I was eliminated from my past 3 jobs because of buyouts and factory closings.  ugh!  How long does it take to get the education for it and how do you get jobs from home?  I was just curious.  Message me or email me if you don't mind.  I appreciate your support!
