totally OT: where to take a 3-yr-old in Indy

We will be up there on 12/1, and the Children's Museum is closed on Mondays.  My sone is 3 (38 months) and I am looking for somewhere fun to take him.  I figured there were enough Indy folks on here to give me some ideas?  Thanks in advance!

Sorry, I mostly lurk, but I did want to say that you all are a bunch of nice folks.  If I ever am not drowning in work and family stuff I hope to post more, and come to events!

There a couple of inside bounce house places in the area. We have one in Avon and I know there is one in Greenwood. Those are always fun on a cold/rainy day. It's a bummer that the children's museum will be closed, that's always my first choice. That reminds me, I need to get my 20 month old there to play for a while before my surgery. Hope you find something to do.

Hey they have Chuckeee Cheese places all over the place. Are you going to be on the west side? where are you going to be? Michelle

GREAT TIMES at EXPO BOWL in Beech Grove!!! Kids love it! ALOT like Chuck E Cheese but bigger, more games nad activities! Take 465 to Emerson Ave/Beech Grove exit, its right there!

What side of town are you going to be on?  There are a lot of fun places, and cheap too!  I have a 4 and 6 year old, so we have made our way around the city thats for sure!

But our favorites are Great Times on the south side, a HUGE Ball pit with slides and all kinds of fun stuff, with games.($4 I think)  Snapperz on the east side, an inside bounce house with the soft play area too, and lots of games ($10)

And the FREE McDonalds Playlands are always nice too!

I work at the Indiana State Museum and I know he would have a fantastic time there!  Take him after this friday 11/28 and that is when Celebration Crossing Starts.  Santa will be there, he can ride the LS ayers Train, and just have a blast with the museum!  I really think he'll like that!

Thank you all very much!  I now have several ideas to toss around.  Glad to know about the IN State Museum as I assumed there might not be much of interest for such a small child!

It might be cold but the Indianapolis Zoo is awesome!  I like going to Evansville Zoo when it's cold because the animals are more active.  I don't know if all the animals are out in the winter months though.

Depending just how cold it i, that is actually something I considered.  I have not been to the Indy zoo in years but we just went to Evansville's a few weeks back and both the kids LOVED it.  Thanks!

Are you near Evansville?  We go to the zoo there a lot.  We've been members for years!  My daughter is 7 but would love to meet up with you sometime.  She loves little ones.  Just wondering if maybe we could do a zoo trip together sometime.
