getting to know each other: questions for fun

Jo used to post three questions every Wednesday and we would all answer them just for fun.  It was a blast and I would like to continue doing it.  I hope you all enjoy it.  I learned alot about my OH family from it.   Today I thought we could do Christmas questions.  So here goes:


1.  What is your favorite thing about Christmas?

Being with my family and spending time together.


2.  What is your favorite family tradition for the holidays?

We always decorate the tree on Thanksgiving after the meal.  We also make a new homemade ornament each year.  I have some very special ones the kids have made over the years that are priceless to me.

3.  If you could celebrate Christmas anywhere on earth, where would you want to be?

I would love to have all my family with me in Honduras.  There is a small island there that is the closest thing to heaven on earth in my eyes.  Isla Roatan would be my choice.

1. What is your favorite thing about Christmas?
The season gives me a chance to reflect on my blessings. And remember why we have Christmas in the first place....to celebrate the birth of Christ.  Something I need to remember more often.


2. What is your favorite family tradition for the holidays?
My husband and I are starting a new tradition this year.  We are foregoing getting Christmas for each other and we are sponsoring 2 children from local Angel Trees that need Christmas.    Pay it forward...


3. If you could celebrate Christmas anywhere on earth, where would you want to be?
Somewhere warm... with a beach.  I am truly at peace with myself when I can look out on the water and hear the waves and feel the sun. I might tag along with Tracy!!!!

Leah... you are a part of my OH family so you are more than welcome to join us on the island!  What a dream that would be!

1.  What is your favorite thing about Christmas?
Having all my family around me and watching the joy in the boys' eyes as they see what awaits them under the tree.

2.  What is your favorite family tradition for the holidays?

I always try to get the boys a new ornament for the tree each year. Joshua got a Harry Potter ornament (he's obsessed right now) and Zachary got a dancing/singing snowman (he loves music).

3.  If you could celebrate Christmas anywhere on earth, where would you want to be?

I wouldn't want to go anywhere other than to be with my family. I also would want to make sure there is snow on the ground. It just never feels like Christmas without snow.

Watching how excited my boys are when they get up and see stuff under the tree from Santa.

2.  What is your favorite family tradition for the holidays?

We fix cinnamon rolls the morning of Christmas.  I will still do this but not eat one.

3.  If you could celebrate Christmas anywhere on earth, where would you want to be?

At DISNEY WORLD with my family!  How fun would that be?

Tracy thanks for starting this up again! As far as Christmas things to know about me is that I am no longer fond of Christmas. That is all I am saying since I do not want to be a whiner!!
 When the next set of questions come around I will try to do better at answering them! I used to love Christmas, too! Michelle

1.  What is your favorite thing about Christmas?

The meaning of the season... I am kinda anti-Santa and commercialism... I really love the Christian view and value of the season. 

2.  What is your favorite family tradition for the holidays?

Don't really have any.  My son is 2 and we are just starting our own family traditions.

 3.  If you could celebrate Christmas anywhere on earth, where would you want to be?

I lived in California for years and had the warm Christmas.  I think I would like to try the Smokies in a cabin with a fire and lots of snow....

1. What is your favorite thing about Christmas?
That no matter what has happened through the year...this is when we come together as a family and have peace within our family. We celebrate what Christmas should be and  not the commercial aspect of it. We remember those who are no longer with us and celebrate the ones that are.

2. What is your favorite family tradition for the holidays?
We always gather together on Christmas eve and enjoy a family dinner.  Then we pop in a movie...polar express if I get to pick and enjoy it until time to go to bed so Santa can come!

3. If you could celebrate Christmas anywhere on earth, where would you want to be?
Warm weather at Christmas was just not the thing for me (we lived in Fl for 8 yrs) I still love Christmas at home. Preferable a white one at that!

1.  What is your favorite thing about Christmas?

Hands down, no doubt about i****ching the little ones get excited about Santa!

2.  What is your favorite family tradition for the holidays?

We do a no-fuss Christmas meal. Deli type stuff. That way, we can devote our time to the kids...and not cooking. 

3.  If you could celebrate Christmas anywhere on earth, where would you want to be?

I really do prefer warmth and loved Daytona Beach...but for Christmas? I'd like for me & my family to all be flown into some little town that has tons of snow and still does the center of town tree lighting on Christmas eve. I'd like for us to all stay in a lodge large enough for us all. The next morning, get up to the excited squeels of the grandkids. Open the presents, then play with the kids...then the next day? High tail it to somewhere warm! LOL!

We do christmas eve with my family and then at 10 go to dhs sister til 1 a.m. and then christmas day with the inlaws we have done this for 17yrs.

      I like celebrating it right here in Indiana where all my friends and family are....
