On average you should loose 1 - 2 lbs per week. Anything over that is extra bonus. But don't concentrate on how much to loose each week, or even if you do loose, just concentrate on changing your life style (aka eating habits) and your relationship with food so that you can use your tool successfully in the long run. If you do that.. then the weight just melts off you before you even know it.
Congrats so far and good luck for the future
Blessings

Of course it's gonna go slower than you would like - we all want it off tomorrow!
My nutritionist told me that with the RNY, women usually average about 3 lbs. per week, men 5 lbs. That's for the first 6 months or so, then it slows down a bit. I'm almost 7 months out, and I'm losing about 2 lbs. per week. My average weight loss so far is 4 lbs. per week (total pounds lost divided by weeks since surgery - for me: 112 divided by 28 = 4.0 lbs.). That's a great way to see how you're doing in the long run, especially when you hit a plateau (and you WILL hit plateaus, count on it). For obvious reasons, I lose better when I'm exercising. Unfortunately, time contraints have prevented me from getting to the gym for the past week, and I know my weight loss will slow down if I don't get my butt back in gear. I feel a lot better when I'm exercising, too.
Hang in there, Jeanna, you will succeed! You are off to a great start.
Merry Christmas!
