I'VE BEEN APPROVED POST IT HERE

OHMYGOD   .... I called the insurance company this morning like I have every single day for the last 3 weeks. They always ask if they can put me on hold and this time was no different. But this time they kept me on hold for a very long time and I got a little nervous. BUT then the woman came back on the line and told me that I WAS APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Can you believe it!   I called my surgeons office to tell them so we can get my date of August 13th set on their schedule and take it OFF "tentative". I have not been able to get through to them.. .keep getting voice mail but I'm sure I'll hear from them today and will have my date. I am flying high as you ALL well know!  Thank you Lord! God is good!! I am approved.  I can't believe it.  My Dr's office sent the request yesterday to Aetna and I was approved today. I was expecting a fight.  i don't have to have a supervised diet, see a psych or provide any additional info. Just boom approved.   I am amazed.  I will be on the losing side soon!!! My surgery date is June 29th!!! Steph

I am approved!  Anthem BCBS National...had to stay on them about it, but approved in 7 calender days.  WOO HOO

  I finally got the nerve up this morning to call my surgeons and see if they have heard from insurance. It was sent to insurance July 9th. They just got information yesterday  that I was approved on the 27th.  Yippee! I haven't got my date yet. They are supposed to schedule me and my grandmother together so I'm waiting to hear for sure what the date it. Should know within the next day or so. They told me they "thought" it may be Sept 11.

I have UPMC PPO and was approved with the first letter. The Doc office handled everything.

I am so excited, I don't know what to do next!!!  I received a call last Friday that the insurance company needed more information, and I thought "oh great I won't be getting approved now"!  Then I got the last of the information needed to the surgeon yesterday morning and had an answer by 3pm!  I am having surgery on August 15th - it's just so surreal, I'm sure it will all sink in later!  I am so lucky to have found this website and to have had all the support I have received this far and can't wait to be on the losers bench.  My insurance is Dakotacare, I had tried to have WLS in 2004 but my insurance at that time denied me and I did not appeal - I would appeal if that had happened today, guess it wasn't my time.   

I was approved today by Aetna the first time out.  The papers were sent to Aetna on 7/20/07 and got the approval today. 8/2/07

I am approved.  I heard from the surgeon office yesterday and my appeal was accepted.  Aetna is very tough.  I was denied in May, but was not giving up that easy.  They tried to say that I hadn't been medically supervised.  I think they just hope some of us will give up.  Don't have date for surgery yet, but I am at least now on to getting the surgery.

I just got my approval letter from United. Initally I was denied.  After reviewing my case with my physician they determined that they would approve me. YEA.
