Is There any Hope?
So my Insurance company is Scott & White Health Plan for the State of Texas Employess( I am covered through my dad). The plan excludes any weight related treatment.
It States:
The link to my plan's details is http://www5.sw.org/sw/portal/.cmd/SWActionDispatcher/_pagr/1 13/_pa.113/128/.swaction/org.sw.SelectMenuItem/.swdoc/iwcont ent~public~swhp~state~en_us~html~SwhpErsWelcome07.jsp/.swkey /0/.piid/219/.ciid/454
Is there ANYTHING at All that i can do? Thanks In Advance!

Hey Pretty Girl,
I checked out the link to your insurance....and I am afraid that they are very definitive about the WLS exclusion......Go ahead and call them anyway, and ask them DO THEY ANTICIPATE ANY CHANGES TO THE POLICY IN REGARD TO WLS!!! If so...When???
Now, I was thinking.....if you are old enough to work or pay for your own insurance, maybe you could go that route, but only after you check and make sure they include WLS.
Next, if you have a part time job, or whatever, can you put money aside for the procedure?
My heart goes out to you and I hope you can get healthy and fit very soon...
Best Regards
Vicki,
I have called them, they say that its not them but TRS that has the exclusion for WLS. When I frist started out trying for the surgery I was 16 and not old enough (they covered it at that time), Now that I'm old enough they exclude it (as of July 1st, 2003). I have talked with TRS about the exclusion and they arent budging. I do work but am currently on Medical Leave Of Absence due to a 4th knee surgery on 12-1-06. It's just so frusturating that after 5 years I'm still stuck in the same ol place.
