I'm in the first stages of the wls process.  I have an appointment for the initial seminar next week.  I'm wondering if anyone has experience with CVT BC/CA?  What their requirements are...  If they require pre-surgery diet, how hard it is to get approved, etc...  I'd just like to get an idea of what I'm in for!  Thanks!

I have Blue Cross of CA and just got approved today!  I don't know when they submitted my paperwork.  It was either Mon/Tues.  I'm not sure what CVT is though.  I've had a hard time finding others with Blue Cross of CA to talk to.  My getting approved was as easy as it could be.  BC/CA only requires a BMI of 40 or higher, and that's it!  I had to get a psych eval, chest xray, see a nutritionist, have blood work done, get a doctor's OK for surgery.  Ya know, stuff that just takes time to get done, especially when you have to stay on top of doctor's offices.  This was the biggest hassle.  Being told the doc's office was going to fax my doctor's approval on a Tues and then finding out on Fri it never got done.  Then I called and could tell they had just forgotten.  *growl*  I had my first appt with the surgeon's office on the 2nd of January, so it's been 1 month to approval.  Not bad!
