is it too late if I get on blood pressure meds
Help! This is a chess game. Was set to meet with the surgeon. Had my psych, diet and exercised consults, blood drawn, primary care referral. Life is good. Then, by accident I find out that UHC has an employer exclusion that requires me to travel to another city for surgery. While talking with the other center, they point out their docs travel to my city to perform the surgery at a hospital that has applied and should receive within 2 weeks Center of Excellence status. Life isn't so good at this point but still hope. Connect with the Center of Excellence and Center of Excellence to be. Have my records transferred to COE to be. They're giving me hope again. Open my case file with at UHC. Lady calls me back. Asks my weight, my height, my comorbidities: 5'5', 223, bmi 37, high blood pressure. Have you been on blood pressure meds? No. How high: last reading 160/100. Then I get the third degree and she says that I should be concerned but there is probably no way her medical director will approve since I have not been on meds. Hubby says no way to self financing. What now????? I believe the reason doc has never prescribed meds is because diet and excercise bring it down - it's been high off and on for 10years. Now my question is: is it too late if I get on blood pressure meds. I'll be on the phone with my doc today asking for meds. Advice appreciated -
