The paperwork is at the surgeon's office...the wait is on!

I had my last visit today for the six month weight loss.  I used Paul's template for those visits and made sure that all the required information was on them. I had my 5 years of history of BMI over 35. I had my Phsyc, and Nut. approval letters.  And now the wait for my approval Cigna).  Please if you will all pray for a quick approval that would be wonderful.  So Paul when should I start calling????

Hi Joy, I am in the same boat as you are in.  Monday was the last day of my 6 month diet and after I left my PCP's office with my records, I walked across the street to the surgeon's office.  They are faxing my information to my health insurance this week.   My surgeon's office advised that calling and harassing my insurance won't do any good.  They said they have a routine of calling insurance every week.  Actually, the girl with my surgeon's office who submits the insurance requests knows my health insurance's care manager and they already have a working relationship. Well missmacy glad to know that I have company in this waiting game... I received a call today from the insurance person, she went through my papers while we were on the phone and said all looks good. She said that now Dr. Melkonian will review my case and if he approves the requrst for approval will go to the insurance. She said that she will call me when it goes in.  I have no problem waiting.  Becauser I have a conferrence to attend in May I might have to wait till I get back...all in God's time.

Joy, I just received the phone call from my surgeon's office that I am approved for weight loss surgery.  I am having the RNY Gastric Bypass.  Yippee!   Have you heard anything? Macy
