I have a BMI under 40 (37.1) but have been having hypertension (taking meds for) and heart palpitations that my Doc is looking into to see if there are any problems. What I want to know is will Aetna POS II cover WLS because of hytertension?

As for as I know they do cover for RNY unless they you have a medical condition that prevents that then you can get Lap Band. It depends on if your employer has an exception. I have the same plan and they said I can't get it.

Aetna has the same requirements for RNY as lab band.  The link to their requirements is below.  you need a BMI over 40 with no comorbidities or 35 to 40 with comorbidities.  One of the comorbidities is high blood pressure.  Check ou these requiements for more specifics.
