What to do first?

Hi! I've been around here for about 5 years, but haven't had the option of WLS until recently when my husband got new insurance-Aetna PPO NAP. I've looked around  the site for this particular ins., but haven't found anyone with it yet.  I've read our policy and there seems to be no exclusions, so I finally have a glimmer of hope that I may FINALLY be able to get this done. My question is, where do I start? Do I call my insurance co. first to find out what is exactly covered, or do I go ahead with an appt. with the surgeon and figure out the insurance then? Any advice for a newbie?  Thanks!

dont call.  Read.  See what the policy says.  then let your surgeons office go through the process with you.  you'll need your testing etc...

Thank you, that is what I'll do. I'm going to a seminar this weekend. I've read my policy and it has no exclusion for bariatric surgery of any kind. Hopefully, that will be good news. Thanks again! Kerry
