Question for Gary Viscio!

Gary, I went yesterday for my psych evaluation. Everything was going great with the psychiatrist until she asked me to take a test. I answered truthfully. When she "graded" it, she said my results don't match up with her interview with me. The test showed me to be anti-social. She said that she could clearly see that I'm not antisocial. She is going to have to get her supervisor to look at it to see if they can "approve" me with those test results. But her supervisor won't be there for another month! I've already submitted all of my other paperwork and the insurance company is waiting on that evaluation! She said she could okay me and put on there that I'll need to come back 2-4 times after surgery to "cover herself." I don't get it! She clearly agreed with everything I said and wants me to have it done. She also said they might have me to take another test after she talks to her supervisor. Any suggestions? My ins is BCBS of Illinois and they have ALL of my paperwork except psych evaluation. What can I do to speed things along? DO you suggest I see someone else in the meantime?  Thanks so much! Karen

Boy if I've ever seen a catch-22.  If you complain and "bother" them they'll say see we were right.  But, they're not, so, I would say talk to your surgeon's office about going to another pdoc.  Since the insurance doesn't even have a psych eval go to your own.   To be honest, saying come back 2-4 times after surgey is totally wrong, because you've had the surgery and you can't go back, so once you have it you either never show up or if you do and the doc finds something "wrong" what do they do? undo the surgery? Get a second opinion.  Also, that kind of result could end up haunting you in the future.  My close friend is trying to get onto the NYPD.  She told them she saw a pdoc when she was 11 when her grandmother died, and twice two years ago when her boyfriend left.  She was never medicated and total only had like 4 visits.  The NYPD pulled those records and failed her on the psych.  So, no we're fighting it. Get another opinion.
