6 month diet question
This may sound like a stupid question but here it goes....as far as I know, my insurance does not require a 6 month diet. I have been told this like 5 or 6 times, but they can always come back with it. I was wondering if the 6 months,do you have to weigh in with the same doctor? I have seen my PCP and weighed in Feb. March and April, but saw the surgeon and weighed in May. All these times weight has been talked about and stuff. I am trying not to take time off work right now so that I have sick days to use after my surgery. My boss isn't very understanding, matter of fact I am not even telling her that I am having the surgery, (if I get approved), I am just telling her that I am having surgery and I need some time off.
Thanks for your help.
Hi Cara,
I am not sure if your insurance will make you weigh in by the same doctor or not.
BUT I do know that the visits have to be because of obesity, not just because you had a cold and were there (know what i mean?) And they information has to be documented in their records, that you talked about behavioral changes, excercise, and stuff like that.
My insurance BCBS of IL, stated that the diet could not be with the surgeon or affiliate.
See if you can get all your records or atleast work up a sheet for them to fill out with your weight and what was discussed.
GOOD LUCK,
