Hello, New to the forum, just attended my info seminar for lapband and I'm moving forward to see about approval.  I've called my Insurance, it can be approved by the company (not specifically an exclusion for my policy).  Customer service could not give me any specifics about what it would take to be approved.  She just said have my surgeon, send in a preapproval paperwork.  I've started the process to request my medical records.  My problem  maybe  my lack of  medical history.  I  currently have a BMI of  46. I do not however have any medically documented  co-morbidities.   I have  a huge family history of diabetis, ulcers, arthritis and heart problems. I currently do not  have these.  I have always been very active dispite my size and only recently have felt myself slow down.  This has scared me and it's time to get proactive and fix this before I get ill.  I've previously talked to my Family MD about weight loss but he wasn't willing to help or do anything unless I brought him an entire months worth of eating diary.  He didn't even use my visits as a springboard to weigh me and help educate me or anything.  So thus I haven't had a doctor supervised diet.  15 yrs ago or so, I did Medifast and lost 50 lbs, only to regain them plus!  I'm just not successful by myself.  Anyone have any ideas as to how I can improve my odds of being approved?  I have a snoring issue that has gotten worse in the past year.  Do I try to get a sleep study and a complete physical to add to these issues?  My medical history only consists of sinus infection and a female issue or two.  I'm 44 yrs old.  Ideas anyone?  thanks for all our help!  MJ
