Just needing to vent

I was dreading this part of the process of approval....the whole calling and then being told that it can take up to 30 days to even get entered into the system....then by the way which fax number did you fax it to?  Oh that is the wrong fax number, that is going to get your information to the wrong place....let me give you another fax number then give it 30 days.... No way, I am calling every day to check to see if they receive it whether they like it or not.   I have the hardest time dealing with insurance companies especially since I used to work for one and I know it does not take 30 days just for it to be entered into the computer. Thanks for letting me vent.

ROFL!  You have to check out my profile.  I was the same exact way!  I think all of my calling was borderline harrassment, but I'm okay with it.

I was worried about all that too, but I didn't have a problem. Mine was submitted and two weeks later, seemed like just days actually I got my approval call. My problem was that supposedly Care First BC/BS does NOT send out approval letters.

It took two weeks and numerous phone calls from myself and my insurance person at the surgeons office to finally get them to fax over a measly piece of paper with an authorization number, a procedure code and a signature on it.

I now have to wait a week to a week and a half before I will be scheduled. The paperwork went back to my doctor today for final review, it then goes to a benefits coordinator person who calls the insurance company and gets the low down on what will/will not be covered, and THEN I get my phone call to schedule.

So had the insurance company simply faxed that paper over 2 weeks ago I would have been getting my date this week instead of just starting that process. So hopefully your approval goes as smooth as mine did and you do not have the problem I did with an approval letter.
