I have two insurance companies. My primary insurance company is United Health Care and it is through my work.  I also have a secondary insurance company that is Aetna and this is with my Husbands employer HCA.  Now my work has decided to not make weight loss surgery avalible to their employees but my husbands insurance has no problem with it.   I just need to meet some of thier special requests.  Has any one ever had a problem with getting the secondary insurance to cover the surgery?  I am in the process of getting approval for the lap band.

Sorry I don't have any experience dealing with this, but just wanted to say good luck.

Just make sure the certificate of coverage allows for payment of claims that are specifically excluded in primary coverage.  but you should be ok.  Usually secondary pays when primary won't or covers the excess.
