RIDER

Does anyone know what the process is in getting a "RIDER" on your insurance policy?  I have been getting different stories for months now.  My husbands employer says the insurance company has to do it, the insurance company says the employer has to do it.  If I can get the Rider then I'm ok for surgery.  It's such a pain in the butt, to have to go through all of this.  At times I want to throw in the towel, but I refuse to do that, so I just keep at it. and it's a daily thing.

I'd love to hear any answers or suggestions on this.

Thanks so much

Donna

Hi, The employer would have to ask the insurance company to add this to their policy.  I am not aware of any riders you can purchase on your own. Your employer could either pay for all, part or none of the rider cost.  Usually it comes into effect when the policy renews.

Hi Gary,

It was also my understanding that the employer would have to ask the insurance company to add a rider.  I'm not aware either of any rider that can be purchased.  There are so many conflicting stories out there that it's hard not to follow up and check them all out.   It sounds like this may be turning around for me if my husbands employer does this.

Thanks Gary for responding
