My husband works for a big company (Siemens).  He's been working there for 20 years.  In the last 5 or 6 years when it comes time to choose our insurance plan we always opt for whatever plan does not require refferals.   Its been quite a challenge to avoid having to switch drs due to ins changes. This past Jan we ended up with Aetna.  After my initial consult with a bariatric surgeon I found out that our plan does not include WLS - period.  They dont cover any type of treatment related to obesity itself - only the conditions it causes.  Nutritional counseling - not covered (unless you are diabetic) I'm devastated.  I finally reached a point that I was ready to consider WLS only to run into a wall.  I suppose I could try to see if some other plan that's among our choices covers WLS - but I would most likely have to find new primary care doc, and GYN etc....... WAAAAHHHHH!!! Anyone else been in this situation?  What did you do?? Jean
