Hi- seen a surgeon only to discover my  company (not my insurer), chooses not to cover bariatric surgery-- is this legal? If I am paying for insurance can they deny me a srugery my doctors feels I require? has anyone been able to find a way around this?

Unfortunately, a company can decide what it chooses to pay for in the health coverage they offer.  All policies are different.  It doesn't matter if you are paying the premiums.  Usually the company is picking up a good part of the tab too.  That is why it is important to read what is covered with each plan.
