OK, so in everyone's experience here, whats the latest in the game that someone can be denied....If Ive been jumping through all the hoops, have all my testing done, met my surgeon, nutritionist, psychologist...began my support groups.....can I still have the rug pulled out from under me? Anyone here get a kick in the teeth like that after going through EVERYTHING?? If it helps, I have Blue Cross CA HMO...I'm in the final waiting phase....so any advice would help...I'm trying so hard not to get my hopes up...but I don't have a plan B if this goes south for me.,..help!! xxx Becca

I did everything you wrote above. I have BC/BS/NJ. I was denied. I appealed and was denied again.My BMI is 40 but with dieting it has been between 37 and 40 for the past 5 years. Not good enough for them. I have to have a BMI of 40 for 5 years in a row. It makes no sence to me. I wish you luck. Has your BMI been 40 for the past 5 years?
