UCare insurance questions

Does anyone know anything about UCare insurance?  They said they cover WLS, but sound like they don't require ANYTHING but a doctor saying it is medically necessary - too good to be true?  Are they going to but me through the wringer later?

Has your stuff been submitted or have you heard anything yet? UCare rec'd. mine this past Mon. - I called today (Fri.) & was told it's in processing.  Talk about anxiety!  Let me know if you find out anything.  Who's your dr.? Lynette

My stuff hasn't been submitted yet - my psych evaluation is Tuesday.  My doc is Dr Buchwald at the UofM.  I guess I can put that by my avatar now, I just hadn't gotten an 'ok' from him until after my endoscopy and UGI on Weds.  Are you going for the LapBand or RnY?  I'm going for the DS, which is why I had to go to the UofM - only doc that will do a revision from my VBG. I called U Care today - my stuff had been submitted last Monday.  They were able to determine today that I was NOT approved.  I was transferred to a couple different depts. & the most I could find out was something about "not qualifying" & "not enough counseling".  Huh?  Definitely not the case!  I was then told nothing can be done about this - until I've received my denial letter. I called Fairview SD clinic & told them what I'd found out.  The recep. told me they would be looking into it. I'm so upset.  It's all been an uphill battle & now someone's looked at my paperwork for a few minutes & said, "nope".  That's how it feels, anyway. Lynette
