Bariatric Center of Excellence?

Hey Ya'll I have my first consultation this Thursday with my WLS's office.  I have learned that he and his office is a "Bariatric Cener of Excellence".  I've seen a couple of posts on this subject on this website but I can't find them.  Can this make insurance approval easier?  I have BCBS of NC and, again, I have heard that they approve much easier if you are a patient at one of these centers.  Any help would be great, I'm losing my mind!

The "Center of Excellence" is based on Medicare criteria, which means that the facilities are certified by ACS and/or ASBS.  However, other insurance companies can compile their own. What this means is that Medicare will cover WLS only if it is performed in a Medicare-approved facility, that is, a "Center of Excellence".  There are just 2 of them in my state, yet mine will be done in a "Center of Excellence" facility.
