Need Info, expertise, help, guidance ... please :)

Well, heres where im at. I found an "insurance" company online that turned out to be a medical discount program which turned out to be no help to me at all. So now ive signed up for the "high risk" oregon health plan insurance pool which has regence blue cross blue sheild. Well, it says it doesnt cover obesity related claims, but ive heard of people having surgery thru regence before....so, whats my next step? Do i write a letter? Who do i write it to and what kind of info do they need? is it worth the fight? i need your advice everyone, thank you Jenni

I agree with everything Paul said and just wanted to add that you mentioned obesity related claims were not covered.  You really do not know until you have the insurance companies policy or clinical bulletin on WLS for your insurance coverage.  As Paul mentioned, the same insurance company may cover under one plan but not on another.  Also make sure you read what the plan says as there are so many plans out there you cannot rely on the person on the phone to give you the right information.
