Self Pay PS -- Extra Insurance?

Hey Everyone, My insurance has the dreaded exclusion for skin removal, "even when medically necessary". (HOW??) But anyway I will cash in my retirement account and self pay. Do you guys know if there is any sort of insurance policy we can purchase to cover us in case complications arise from the surgery? As expected, my insuance will not cover any expenses arising from self pay surgeries either. Any information is appreciated. Thanks! Lisa O
