DO ALL INSURANCE REQUIRE?

Hello,               does all INSURANCE COMPANIES  require diets , etc before approving WLS? In otherwords, I was told my Insurance requires I am over the BMI of 40 and thats it, no one said anything about prior diets, etc. Thanks

Not all require diets.  It is best to call them or get with your HR Dept and have them review the policy.  Good Luck!

Hi! Not all insurances require diets.  However, you should also know that some don't cover all the major weight loss surgeries either.  Some don't cover the DS or Lapband.  Also, once you pick your surgeon, there will be someone in his/her office that will handle all your insurance questions...believe me, they're usually pros at this stuff. Jen- Get it all in writing!! Even document wh you spoke to (date/time, full name) at the inusrance company in case they try to pull a fast one. Don't know your ins comp, but that is great for you if that's all they require. Call again if you didn't get the name last time (and sometimes you get different info from different reps). They usually record their calls if you contest it anyway, but it's better to have a name. Good luck to you Kahlua
