I have degenerative joint diease my knee is swollen so big and I normally take Diclofenac Sodium  50 mg   is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) taken to reduce inflammation and an analgesic reducing pain in conditions such as in arthritis or acute injury. It can also be used to reduce menstrual pain, dysmenorrhea. Do you think it would hurt to take it with my band if I take it with food and stay up a while so it doesnt sit in my pouch  I am in some major pain and dont want to take the vicodin

Hi,  We haven't met.  I 'm not a doctor but i did sleep at a holiday inn last night.  I am told NSAIDS are ok for you banders.  You dont have the problem we have.  But, check with your doc. I took the advice of someone on here in 2003 after my RNY and who said to take children's motrin.   A week later I was in the hospital nearly dying from a bleeding ulcer. Vicodin is ok, but you have the addiction issue that we all deal with having lost food for our comfort etc. Hope you feel better. Gary

Thanks Gary,   I went to Dr today and he said ok to the NSAIDS so I am finally going to get some relief hopefully.
