Okay I give up on Personal care/Caremark ins.  In May I can switch insurance.  I work for State of Illinois so I have several choices.  I have narrowed it to Health Alliance or Blue Cross Blue shield.  Can anyone advise me which would be better for someone wanting lapband?  Health Alliance seems to have more out of pocket expenses in general not just for the WLS.  Seems BCBS is now approving lapbands where they didn't in the past.   Also figure I can start my pre-surgery medically supervised diet now does anyone know how long  is required by either one of these ins. cos.

First of all make sure that both the plans that are offered I assume through your employer have no exclusions for wls period thats the first thing you want to find out and go from there.  Most companies required a supervised diet but not all . but first make sure the policy you are considering has no WLS exclusion.
