Cigna Insurance
I know Cigna is very picky that every line of their criteria is met. You can find it online on their website. I know a BMI of under 35 will not meet their criteria. So here are some ideas...
measure your height again. I am often surprised that many people are sure of their height but when carefully measured, without shoes...it is often an inch shorter that what they thought. That affects your BMI. This needs to be documented in your medical record. Also weigh yourself during the heavier time of the month or day. You must make sure your documentation meets strictly the requirments of that particular plan. So....get the criteria you need to meet and then work on how to meet that. And Please, Please don't base your requesting surgery on the opinion of a customer service rep. That is what you are getting....an opinion....of someone who has nothing to do with the medical review. And most importantly...not controling diabetes and blood pressure is life threatening.
Good luck,
Mary
