I am doing my second three month weight loss program as required by insurance.  I lost 30 pounds the first time only to gain it all back and then some. This time I am meeting with a nutritionist but am having a hard time and have actually GAINED weight.  Can my insurance deny my request for lap band surgery because of this??

It completely depends on your insurance. My insurance just recently changed thier manual for providers to say that the patient must lose or maintain their weight from the start of the 6-month supervised diet (my insurance requires 6 months); ending the diet at a higher weight than when they started is considered not fulfilling the requirement.

So, check with your specific policy.
