I am so discourged. In my 4th month of 6 month Doctor Diet. I have been to Support Group.

I have gotten all my old doctor files. It seem like they always weight me when I went to them but hardley anything in files.

Been seeing my current PCP for a year....been dealing with my weight along with other things. Woman who does insurance at my  Bariatric Office just told me 4 months in that I need 5 years worth of Doctor records showing BMI over 35. First of all I haven't seen a doctor every year for the last 5 years because I had no Health Insurance. I do have some years....however I do have WW and Curves papers that show my weight. Do these work? Does anyone know. I have heard Cigna can be very difficult. My BMI is 38.3  with several comorbidities. HELP...any advise!!!!!

I have Cigna PPO and have been required to go through a 6 month supervised diet, a psy evaluation, a surgeon consult and 5 years of PCP weights.   Cigna did not accept Curves, WW, etc. it must be a doctor's office.  I sent records of several doctors since I do not have a regular PCP.  Any doctor that you went to several times within the years have them fax the records.  Also send over proof of your comorbidities from your physician.    I sent everything to the Bariatric OFfice and let them decide what to send or not.  You will also have to have a letter from your PCP recommending the surgery.

It took 5 weeks to get approval,  but the office sent the wrong surgery request, and I am still waiting for approval on it, but Cigna is precise on what they want.

Hope this helps.
