How do you know which plan covers WLS. I read on here that it is covered by them but only on some plans. I was thinking about switching in Novembe at Open enrollement. Will they actually tell you that if you inquire to them?

Should be listed under exclusions. Some insurances charge extra for certain riders, like Maternity, Weight Loss, etc. Need to get details for your exact plan to make sure.

Don't ever believe anything you're told regarding benefits coverage. If it's not in writing, it doesn't count. Get a copy of the Plan, and check under EXCLUSIONS or SERVICES NOT COVERED. (FYI- Pregnancy cannot be excluded by law, and must be treated as any other illness. It's been this way for years...hopefully, one day, obesity will be treated the same way.)
