cigna PPO..Jus a question

well I tried 2 have lapband last year but cigna denied me...its was because it was still under investigation or something..but now they are covering it..as they say n e ways....so im going 2 the doc..tomarrow 2 try again....I was just wandering has n e one been through this....I did all the testing cigna requires and the 6mons they require..will i have 2 do this all over..if n e one has had this happen please let me know.. thanks,Marla

I was told that if the 6 mos diet was within the last 2 years then u can still use it. I have Cigna PPO too and just finished by 6 mos diet last month. I'm going for the RNY though. Hope that helps.

Marla, My company just switched to Cigna PPO this month...I would love to keep in contact with you to see what road blocks (and I hope you don't encounter any) Cigna puts in your way. I have one more doctors visit and then I will be done with my 6 months supervised diet. I have met with the nutritionist and I have an appointment to meet with a shrink later this month. I originally had BCBS of IL and was denied over a year and half ago...When I first tried to get the surgery (lap-band) I had to write some sappy letter to the insurance....did you have to do this the first time you applied with Cigna or were they just looking for the facts?
