Who did you tell?
husband (support)
MIL and FIL (to take care of kids while I was unable)
once a week went by, no one would even notice as I was not "injured" and "recovering".
three weeks later I saw my family for Thanksgiving. No need for them to know. I was jus****ching what I eat, small portions, slow, etc. (I did have a Dr that released you to full foods after three days).
8 weeks later at christmas my mom did make a comment that I was not eating much, that she noticed I did it at every meal. (a small portion of everything, then eat 1/3 of each of the portions - worked for me!)
work just knew I was having surgery - for HR they were told abdominal surgery, when questions, I gaid gallbladder (not removal, in case I ever have to go in again for that but unblocking an obstruction in my bile ducts - I only used that story the first week or so, after that no one even asked.)
I gave up diet coke - MAJOR LIFE CHANGE - told everyone that my Dr showed me how it expands in your stomach and doesnt go away, even if you are a great burper! Have had many otehrs stop or cut down on soda just because of the illustration I was able to give (and my Dr DID do this at the group seminar I went to with the ballon over the top of the soda bottle - no need to tell them what kind of Dr it was). Told them I had no use for an expanded stomach that needed more food to be filled!

No one knows I had the surgury, except my hubby. I have lost weight so gradually that people just think I am doing great on weigh****chers or some other diet program.
I don't think I will ever tell anyone else, not that some of my friends and family wouldn't be totally supportive, it is just a kind of private thing for just me to know.

There was also discussion on this topic a few weeks ago. Here's the link to that thread...
