Dry heaving all day

What a horrible day this has been. I have had dry heaves for the past 5 1/2 hours. Have used 3 phenergan suppositories, just appliced a new scopolamine patch. Just spoke w/ my surgeon, who is increasing my decadron dose and adding Zofran. No question for you guys, just miserable.

I am trying to remember when you had your surgery, just a few days ago right? You could still be coming off the anesthesia. What pain meds are you taking? My problem with the nausea and vomitting was the pain meds. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Try to keep a little liquid in your stomach so at least you vomit something. If you aren't keeping anything down, you may need to go back to the hospital and get an IV. You don't want to get dehydrated.

Sorry to learn that today is not your day. Althought not very Man-ly , have you considered taking a warm/hot bath. Sometimes it helps to relax your muscles--including your stomach muscles. Just a thought--I won't tell anyone! Joan F

Have you checked the side effects of the pain medication your on? I get sick to my stomach from a couple of them. Demeral and percodan. Once I switched to something else the nausea went away. Just a thought and hope your feeling better soon. Julia
