Belly button question - gross
I get this too sometimes. Peroxide will help. See the doctor if it doesn't get better in a couple of days. It could be a yeast infection, which requireds monistat to clear up. AND-- here is my best tip for you-- once you get it cleared up, put cornstarch in it *every day*. It works great, and keeps it dry. Once a day, clean it up, and dust it with cornstarch. I keep some in a powder can with a puff. It works for under the breasts and arms, and on other skin folds as well. And here is another thing-- everytime you have a skin or fold related infection, go to the doctor to document it and TAKE PICTURES. You will stand a better chance of getting your insurance to approve plastic surgery in the future if you have documented skin and fold related problems.
Thanks Alyssa & Jeannette! I didn't have any peroxide so I used alcohol, yes, I felt the burn! Then I found some cream that I had to use on my son when he had a staph infection on his back. The itch went away immediately....ahhhh relief!
My GYN told me not to use cornstarch (because I'm prone to boils under my breasts and my front torso), but I think I'll try it anyway. That doctor was a different one than my norm and I didn't care for her one bit. I like the picture idea because I know that if I ever get this weight off, I'm having the apron taken off for sure! I have heard having recurrent infections is one way of getting insurance to pay! We'll see....
Thanks to everyone for your help!
Karen
