I have the Inamed 10cc band and I have had one fill to 4cc. I am going to schedule a fill for next week. I was wondering how much is good restriction with this band? I am eager to be at the sweet spot. THanks Shelly

Do not compare yourself with others. Everyone finds their own level of restriction that is right for them. Keep working with your doc and you will also find your so-called "sweet spot".

Shelly, Everyone is different so there's no way for me to tell you where it will be for you. However, I do have the 10cc band and my 3rd fill was the trick for me. That put me at 5cc and so far it's working real good. Remember it is different for everyone though. Good Luck! Cari 325/289/150

Just like the two previous post everyone is different. I have the 10cc band and it took me 5 fills to get to the right point. I am now up to 7cc and doing pretty good with it.

I agree, we are all different. I have 6 1/2 cc's in my 10cm band. Now, I have some trouble with meat and just about anything that I do not chew well enough, or take too large of a bite. I had the band Sept '05, first fill Oct '05, have lost just over 50 pounds since. And it has not been hard to loose, do not drink a sip with any meal or for 30 prior and after a meal, and it will work. I also eat more vegetables now, just because they don't give me as much trouble as meat. Hang in there!! It'll melt off soon. Kathy

The 10-cc VG Imaned band is used commonly now. It's a bit trickier to get to a good fill level, because there is so much extra room in there. the first 3.5 cc of saline simply fills the tubing, but does not expand the balloon at all, so it is not considered a fill at all. First fills are often in the 4-5-5.5 cc range, so that a bit of balloon inflation DOES take place. In my ecperience, many people find a good fill level somewhere between 6-8 cc or so - but, as everyone will tell you, we are all different and need a custom-tailored fill. Fluoros are very useful with this bigger band, becuase you can gat fairly close to good sooner, and then tweak small amounts every 4 weeks until you're just right. they do sometimes take more patience and more fills to get to "just right". In the meantime, there is lots to do to learn about good nutition, needed exercise, and - very importantly - working on the head and lifestlye issues we all must conquer on our own. all these factors need to be in place pretty well, and then, when you get to a good fill, your SERIOUS weight loss will start.
