Feeling bummed out for a friend
Revision on 02/04/15
A former co-worker of mine (now good friend) who got the band a year ago August just informed me that she needs to have her band removed. It slipped. I know over the summer she was having problems off and on with throwing up and went in for an unfill. She also told me that when she went to the doctors his assistant kept telling her that she was fine and nothing was wrong after she got the unfill and was having acid reflux and heartburn. She started waking up with the taste of blood in her mouth and finally said listen something is not right. After two baruim swallows it showed she had a slipped band. I feel so bad for her. I almost feel like it was my fault she saw how good I was doing being banded and when through the whole process and it took longer for her to get approved and things and now this. I hope it all works out for her and she can get it back again. She did lose about 80lbs.

Just be there for her. Don't feel guilty. You have given her a gift. Hopefully she will be able to get things fixed and continue on her way to success with a new band.
I don't know how the insurance will deal with it but it must be fixed.... so why not check on having it replaced. IF insurance won't help her maybe the doctor can set something up.
Sounds like that assistant needs to be retrained.
