Ok guys...completely OFF TOPIC about my horror doll........

I'll just get this over and done with so I can get on with my day..........................Here's the story behind "THE DOLL" My best friend has a birthday coming up in a couple of days. Less than a year ago she was diagnosed with MS. (Only after going blind first in the left eye and then in the right) She has since regained her vision, but is not working at this time. We BOTH collect horror dolls, among other "wierd" things such as horror movies, dark art, poety etc.................. Ok, she doesn't have money right now to further her collection and the doll she wants is on e-bay for a few hundred dollars. I don't have that kind of money either. So, I thought to cheer her up, I would MAKE her a one of a kind doll. I bought the head, arms, legs, body, wig, eyes, dress all separately and put it together. It was alot of work. When I had mentioned it here on the board, A LOT of people asked me to show it to them when I was done. I was proud of all the hard work and quite pleased at how she came out, seeing as how this is my first horror doll. I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone or upset anyone. There are alot of us on here that post subjects OFF TOPIC or not relating to Lap Band surgery. But you know, since I got my lap band, I'm doing alot more stuff in life that I hadn't done in a long time. Dressing up, doing my hair and make up everyday, going different places, saying hello to old friends when I see them at the store (instead of ducking behind a large display because I don't want them to see how much weight I've gained) As an artist ( I paint, do poetry, write etc.) it is hard sometimes to put your work out there for people to see. Especially if you've ever suffered from self esteem issues. I see art all the time that I wouldn't really wish to collect, but hey, I give the artist credit for sitting down and bringing something to life.  It's just who I am. I have felt so much love here on the board and feel a friendship that extends past the boarders of a computer monitor. If the ONLY THING we could talk about on here was WLS, I doubt there would be as many of us on here as there are. WLS extends to your entire life. This is a life changing decision and it means just that. Our whole lives are changing or are in the process of being changed and with that comes different issues. That's why there are so many different posts and topics each day on here. We could just have a "dead" board with frequently asked questions and do away with the interaction if that's all it's meant to be. Ok, I'm done. I just wanted to state that I didn't want to upset anyone and meant no harm.  Horror Dolls aren't for everyone. Thanks everyone for still loving me. ~V

Hey Vickie... Is there a pic of the doll?  I would really like to see it! You seem to be very talented and creative.  Maybe you found a new business you could do from home.  I am envious.  Send me a pic of the doll if you can.

Honey we all have interest that are not shared by everyone.  I saw your original post but chose not to look because I hide my eyes during the scary gory parts in movies and faint at the sight of blood.  But you have every right to express your art and do not owe anyone an apology.  You gave a warning and I think that this board would be a bored without different strokes for differnt folks.  Let's share and compare and agree and disagree.  Viva free expression.  It is the difference between Us and the rest of the world.

Hey girlfriend, you did absolutely nothing wrong.  I just posted an OT about the bachelor, and you are right with only talk of weight loss this would be a dull board for sure.  I am glad you sent me the pic of the horror doll....I see nothing wrong with it...you are a grown-up sharing a gift with another grown-up of something they collect.  You gave fair warning not to open the post if you were squeamish.  I just simply couldn't see the doll until you sent it to me through e.mail.  I love horror movies and it reminded me of "Carrie". I love your off-beat sense of humor and consider you among my best friends on here and thoroughly enjoyed talking to you on the phone.  To know you is to love you. Don't sweat the doll.....it was nice to see something OT on this board, and if anyone got their panties in a bunch well they were warned not to open the topic..... Love you, Dee

LOL Dee, you make me laugh. Thanks for the words of encouragment and know that I consider you one of my best friends on here as well. She is pretty bloody like Carrie (love that movie by the way) I hope Marie likes it.  P.S. I don't WANT to be a grown up.......he he he  ~V

Hi, It scared the hell out of me!!! Yeah, my curiousity got the best of me. Don't want one, but its way cool!!!  Very macabre and gruesome for sure and I won't look again, so I guess it really must be good !!! LOL  THis board is for everyone who is banded and not just for banding related issues. We are much more than just banded people (i hope) Babs in TX 334/190 ish
