Perhaps I am just naive - I haven't had my pre-op appt yet (May 9th) and am constantly thinking of ways to get in all my protein.  Keep in mind the Drs office hasn't given me a food list or suggestions.   Beef Jerky sounds like a logical choice...no? How about PROTEIN MAX Slim Fast shakes? Cheese? Eggs?

All the above have protein in them. When it comes in a package read the label, some things like jerky have to many carbs in them, but not all of them do.  Good Luck with your Journey. And keep asking questions here, because you will get lots of different and good answers. Inge

isn't beef jerky something that would be quite a challenge to chew down really well? Does anyone know if it seems like a high blockage kind of food? I love beef jerky, by the way! LOL But it's high in sodium and very stringy....I'm curious about it, too :) ~Julie

I love my beef jerky.  It is portable and fills me up.  I had 1 problem with it getting kind of stuck, my fault, ate too fast.  We were allowed to eat shredded jerky on the pureed stage of the diet.  So I would think it is a good protein every now and then.

Beef jerky is a great snack, but most of your protein will come from "fresh" sources. Chicken, fish, beans, eggs, red meat. I have not had a problem getting in my daily protein and have only occasionally used protein shakes if I was having a not so hungry day.  Good luck
