Lap Band Help
I had lap band sugery on 5/2/07. I have a VanGuard 10CC band. I have lost 28 pounds most of this loss being right after surgery. I really don't seem to be moving anywhere now and feel like I could eat anything and everything. I've had one fill, 4cc. I'm scheduled to have another fill on 9/11. Can you guys tell me how many cc's you have in your VG 10cc band? I am suffering from some depression and feel at times that this is just not working for me. Do I need a fill? Help!!!!!
It usually takes 3-4 fills to get good restriction. I didn't feel uch until about my 4th fill, but I have had good restriction since. I currently have 7cc in my 10 cc band. And YES, you need a fill. I go every 4-6 weeks. Blessings,
Ron

The most important thing to remember is everyone is different. Don't worry about how many other people have had, it sure sounds to me like you need a fill. Talk to your doctor and do what works for you. Maybe he/she will let you come sooner than sept. Hang it there, it will be wonderful for you as soon as you get the proper restriction!!!!
I also have a VG band. I have 5cc in it. As of right now I have pretty good restriction and havent went to get a fill in 4weeks. One thing I have noticed is, if I dont exercise I dont loose weight. Im eating the proper portions, but I have to exercise in order to loose weight. Dont get depressed about it, I felt the same way at first too. Remember its a tool.
It typically takes 3-5 fills to get to initial proper restriction (usually done about a month apart until things are working right). ANY weight loss prior to proper restriction is a bonus and not to be expected. The band doesn't "work" until proper restriction is achieved (and of course, you must be doing your part of the bargain, eating sensibly and exercising, etc.).
Remember everyone is different...what anyone else needs in their VG band has nothing to do with what your band will need to work right with your unique anatomy :)
Patience is the #1 requirement for new post-op bandsters.
