Ok, I've put this post off but I'm open to hear answers
Refried beans are pretty high in fat, because of the way they usually make them (with lard). You can get no fat refried beans, but they are pretty bland. Lately I have been making the Wendy's chili recipe with pinto and kidney beans and that pretty much does the trick, so to speak. I also tried a few raw veggies and that helped, too.
Okay don't hate me but the key to your door of change is ... Exercise!
Sorry, but ones you get that body moving you will see results, This lap-band will not work on its own and exercising will not only improve your mood but it will move the scale.
Now I'm hiding in a corner! lol

NO need to hide. I just guess I thought eating less calories would equal weight loss. I wish there was a logical reason for not losing.
I realize the lap band won't work on it's own - that's why I am dieting. I don't know why that isn't working -- that's what behooves me.
I don't think this mystery will be solved :) Exercise it is.

Hey Krista,
Frustrating, isn't it??!!! I remember asking the same, exact question at our local support message board and got some answer that didn't explain it either. And I was exercising a little bit, too. Just remind yourself that you are doing something really good for you and your health with your new eating habits, and it will eventually show up on the scale. Dare I say,"Patience".......Hang in there. Jean B.

{{{{{{{{Krista}}}}}}} My dear friend. I know how frustrating those plateaus can be because I just came off a month-long one. However during that month I lost a ton of inches. That's what our bodies do -- drop and stop -- drop and stop. You just started back exercising too -- right? When I started back in earnest I GAINED 5 pounds -- very angry with that, but I knew it wasn't fat so I kept pushing on and things normalized. As much as we'd love to see the weight drop off, most likely you'll have these frustrating periods of plateau. Take your measurements though because you will likely be dropping inches. Get a pair of wish jeans and keep trying them on. You'll get there. The scale has no choice but to move again.
And as to why the body doesn't like to lose weight during healing is that it becomes very efficient at retaining fluid after trauma. One of these mornings soon you will get up and have dropped several. You are doing great!
you have LOST 40 pounds my goodness thats fantastic you didnt have RNY you got the band where the loss is at a slower weight.
my surgeon told me to EXERCISE!!! maybe you need to start... now and not after the weekend.
when i went to my first fill which was yesterday he asked what am i waiting for... so i am going to ask you the same what are you waiting for.. I'll tell you if you had my surgeon you would have already started. Good Luck
