I have heard that pain in your neck and shoulder area is an alert that you ate too much. I've had this pain for a few months now, how can I tell if it is food related? And believe me, I'm not eating too much. A slip here or there, but that's it.  I'm going back to work as a house cleaner, and doing that, I move in ways I never thought were even possible! Not looking forward to the collective pain. Oh, will the band be sensitive after all of it's fills? Each time? At all? PollyBMcM

Like Karenbarb, I have experienced this and haven't heard of others. I asked the nurse about it (left shoulder) and she said something like it was the odd angle from the surgery (???) NOT! I find when I drink / eat maybe too fast that it happens. I have to be more observant to notice when but I DEFINITELY have left shoulder pain and have never had it pre-op before.

Be careful with that SLIP word:)!! I bet your diaphram is still irritated from surgery.  You are barely a month out and still healing.  I have had some swelling after fills but no pain.  You will be fine.

I have had the pain in my left shoulder ever since surgery last November.  It has been discussed on OH posts alot.  Most everyone says it is from gas pains.  And I really think it is in my case.  My pain goes away after about 15 minutes.  I don't worry.  Take Care

My dr. told me in the recovery room that the pain in my shoulders & neck was because the band rests on a nerve (I forgot the name of it) and that it would eventually go away.   It was way more painful than the surgery itself the first few days .. but it's a lot better now, 10 days out.   But I still get it from time to time .. always in the left shoulder and side of my neck.    And ... I always have the HICCUPS!!!    What's up with that??

OMG...me too. Glad I am not alone. Soemtimes it hurts so much that I end up poking it with my finger tips and have a bruise feeling the next day. really dumb, but at the time it hurts SOO bad. If I am holding something I have to put it down, and sometimes can't draw a full breathe til it loosens up.
