I looked down a while ago and noticed that most of my 6 incisions have bled through my nightgown. I had surgery Wednesday morning. Has anyone experienced this? I plan on calling in the morning, I would call tonight if I was very concerned about it. It is definitely blood, Thanks! Rose

Did you get a list of things to watch for after you go home.  Does bleeding from incision site say to seek medical attention?

I would cover them with gauze and call the doctor immediately. This seems to me like a sign of infection  Call!  LEt us know how it goes.  We are concerned about you! .

Have a Nice Day/Night!

My first thought is that you have been over-doing it.  If you do too much you can cause some of the sutures to tear, and bleeding to occur.  If it's just a small amount of bright red blood with no foul odor, I'd just clean it up and see if it stops.  If there's any redness, odor, or swelling, or if it's more than just a little blood, I'de call asap.

That makes sense, I had to go get my son from a sleep over, which involved being bounced around in my Jeep. I also carried a bag of bagels. Thank You!

Rose,  congrats on surgery! I was banded on the 5th, so we are in the same boat. As far as your incisions, my doctor and nurses stressed to me that if there was any type of drainage I needed to call immediately. I think you should call right away.  Good luck! I'll be thinking about you! Brooke

Wow...you are the first person I've read about that has had this problem.   I was told not to lift anything for at least 10 days to two weeks and to not do any strenuous exercise right after surgery. I recommend you call your doctor in the morning to see if you need to get checked.  You don't want to risk an infection.
