Well I was banded last Wednesday the 14th...I had no problem with the liquid diet the first week but all of a sudden since yesterday those old hunger pangs starting coming back!! I'm only in my 2nd week post op and already starving!?!? That can't be a good sign! I'm not going to go pig out or anything but I was hoping these feelings wouldn't come just yet.......has this happened to anyone else so early out?!?! I feel like such a loser/failure

That's perfectly normal, and good, in fact - that means you are healing quickly and the swelling has probably gone done by now.  Until  you have proper restriction you are going to feel hungry - especially after denying yourself food on a liquid diet for so long.  I got through it by eating lean protein and salads. Don't let yourself starve if you can help it.  Have something to eat just make sure it's something good and not empty calories.  You aren't even expected to lose weight until you have some restriction.

Thanks for the encouragement...it helps to know others have gone through the same feelings...I am trying to keep away from the kitchen, snack on the sf popsicles and keep myself occupied but if I was a pro at that I wouldn't have needed the lap band in the first place Thank god for this board though...atleast this keeps me busy and it's so helpful.......thanks again...

I started starving about 5 days post op...and let me tell ya ..I was in tears...it was soooo bad....for some reason or another...I dont do well on liquids...when I was a kid I tried slim fast...and was starving about a half hour later..so I had a bad time with it til I moved on to mushies and then I felt like a new women...you are so not a loser/failure...it just takes time..the first 6 weeks are just plain hard..but after you start eating real food..and having fills ..it get easier...
