Linsey, this just goes back to a message I posted a few days ago (and on my profile).  ANY weight loss surgery should be used as a catalyst for change to a new, healthier lifestyle.  Simply eating smaller quantities of the wrong foods isn't enough for long-term success.  If we want to keep the weight off, we have to eat healthy whole foods and exercise.  It's the same ol' story we've heard all our lives, right?  But, this time we have a powerful tool to help. That's what I try to tell non WLS people. You still have to make changes. Eat less and burn more. It's not magic. And no WLS will force you to change your comfort zone...that part is purely YOU.

I feel bad for my neighbor. She had RNY 4 years ago and lost over 100lbs. She's now gained back 20lbs and she's having a REALLY hard time.

Part of the reason I chose the Band is because I was worried that with the malabsorbsion aspect of  RNY, I wouldn't be FORCED to really change my eating habits and  would eventually re-gain the weight.

I feel I have made a complete life style change now but it really is going to be a life long battle.

10cc APS band.
Placed w/ .5cc's.
Fills: 11/5/07 ... 2cc's & 6/15/10 ... 1.5cc's & 3/25/11 .... 1 cc

That's how I felt about it too. With either surgery you've got to change...no doubt about that.
