Meatloaf recipe?

I want to make meatloaf this weekend.  I have this crazy idea to combine ground round and ground turkey.  Has anyone does this?  Can your family tell?  DH won't eat ground turkey, but I thought maybe cutting it 50/50 would hide the taste and lower the fat.  Otherwise I'd just love your favorite meatloaf recipe.  TIA.

PREP TIME

15 Min

COOK TIME

45 Min

READY IN

1 Hr

INGREDIENTS

·    1 egg

·    3/4 cup milk

·    1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

·    1/2 cup quick cooking oats

·    1 teaspoon salt

·    1 pound ground beef or meatloaf mix

·    2/3 cup ketchup

·    1/4 cup packed brown sugar

·    1 1/2 teaspoons prepared mustard

DIRECTIONS

1.   Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

2.   In a large bowl, combine the egg, milk, cheese, oats and salt. Add the ground beef, mixing well, and form this mixture into eight miniature meatloaves.   Place these in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

3.   Or divide and place in a lightly sprayed muffin tin.  If you use the muffin tin, use a brush to spread the glaze around in the tin before placing the meat mixture in.  In a separate small bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar and mustard. Stir thoroughly and spread over each meatloaf. ** This is how I made them and they turned out fantastic!! **

4.   Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45 minutes.

thank you for the recipe.  Did you have good luck using the muffin tins?  Mine have never turned out that way.

I've had this reciepe for over 40 years and it has never failed me.  It was give to me by a friend.
There is no reason why you could not use some turkey.  The reason I like this reciepe is it doesn't use any fillers such as bread crumbs or crackers.  I always use the persons name who gave me the reciepe so here it  is.

Natalie's Meat Loaf
4 lbs. ground beef
1 onion minced
1 clove minced garlic
1/2 C parsley flakes
3 eggs beaten
4 oz tomato or barbecue sauce
salt and pepper
4 bacon strips

Mix onion, garlic, parsley, eggs, salt and pepper to taste.  Add beef.  Shape into a loaf and put in loaf pan.  Put bacon strips on top.  Pour sauce over.
Bake @ 350 degrees for  2 hours.

what size loaf pan do you use?  Does 4 lbs of meat fit in a standard bread pan?  Does the bacon keep it moist?

I love meatloaf and make if quit often. Someone posted a mexican meatloaf a few wks ago, i'm sorry i don't know who it was. It sounded good, i made something similar.
1.5 lbs ground beef, shredded cheddar chs, chopped onion, salsa, crushed tortilla chips, 2 eggs. salt, pepper, cumin, garlic powder, chili powder. (sorry i never measure, just go by sight and if it looks good)  Mix all together and shape into a loaf, spread more salsa over top. Bake about 45- 60 min, top with more shredded chs and return to oven until melted and bubbly. I served it with refried beans and tortillas, and a dollop of LF sour cream on top.  the family loved it.  My meatloaf is pretty much never the same twice, I usually put in what ever i have on hand, like onions, peppers, mushrooms, a can of tomatoes or rotelle & either crackers or corn flakes, and a cpl of eggs. Then top with a 50/50 mixture of ketchup & tomatoe paste.
