Hello everyone,

I'm not sure what is going on, all I do know is I've had heartburn for months. Saw the doc a few weeks ago and he put me on meds daily and wants to see if this helps. He said if not, he would have to do an endoscopy to see whats going on. I'm just wondering if it could be a hiatal hernia.....anyone ever have one?  Thanks..Angie

I see you are in the prime time after banding for a pouch dilation, which is a type of slip.
Have you had a fluoro? ? that is the first step. the dilation will be easily seen, and some new hiatal hernias are too. you should also probably request an easy test for the common h Pylori stomach bateria, although that wull not account for ALL these problems.

we can't  simply cover up the reflux with meds - w have to find the REASON for the new reflux ad fix it, before we get ibnto even bigger trouble. an endo is not the first step here.

Good luck with this - pleeeeze get it diagnosed and fixed, before you have longterm damage from the reflux, which is very dangerous in a number of ways.

At least half of us have had them since obesity is a major cause of HH.  It should have been fixed during your surgery.

You could be too tight, the band could have changed your anatomy so you are suseptable to reflux, you could have H Pylori, it could be a HH, it could be your diet, could be lots of things.
